Myanmar, Bagan Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort was established 30 years ago by the Government, Bagan Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort is situated on the banks of the Ayeyarwaddy River. In 1995, ownership and management were taken over by the Sakura Group of Japan. Bagan Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort has since then undergone extensive renovation, upgrading and expansion.

Bagan Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort sprawls over 24 acres of landscaped gardens featuring flowering plants and tropical trees which have matured over the years. The Hotel's architecture, which has made the most of the property's western orientation toward the river, is in the Myanmar style utilizing teak and native stone as well as Bagan brick.
